jon Posted on Swinging Bridges was the first hike I ever did on Maui, nleray 15 years ago. At the time I didn’t even realize there was any hiking on Maui. Back then I was very much the “What why would you ever walk AWAY from the beach?” mentality… don’t get me wrong I love the ocean more than anything, but Maui’s got variety and it’s nice to explore.

Just a cpuloe of unrelated thoughts…On 1 above, I also think it’s critical to examine your part mix. Are we talking high mix low volumes? High volume low mix? Do your parts have a lot of ECO’s (LCCS is not usually a good fit when there are a lot of design changes). Is labor a big chunk of the total part cost? Does the part fit in a shoebox (because those are the best parts to ship from a freight perspective)? Are there any new trade agreements or tariff schemes coming down the pike that will significantly impact the savings? What is hot? I’d actually counter and say China is on the back half of the curve. Sure, there is tremendous sourcing going on from China to the US but which markets are really starting to boom? Everyone seems to be talking about Vietnam and India and India for manufacturing (in addition to services)

I confess that I'm a little jealous of your freedom to travel so much, and so much that you can rack up so many miles and points to get free 1st class upgrades. I just got onto a 1st class seat recently, and agree the retail price for it doesn't make sense to me -- overpriced and overhyped.

I do hope to tavel more internationally one day, for leisure and maybe for Kingdom purposes too. I am curious why you do travel so much, for business, for recreation, for both? Most of my travel is domestic and business-related, as a consultant.

And, great to meet you in person incarnationally at Urbana! Until next time our paths cross..
